Please forgive us our lack of posts...
We were busy becoming unemployed doctors. Here is what we ate while doing so:
May 11: cheese fondue. We opened the package with grated cheese ourselves, and added wine.

May 12: Bourbon glazed smoked chicken with weird fries (because the oil that the fries were fried in had been previously used for the Turkish meatballs).

May 14: celebratory smoked trout followed by celebratory pasta salad.

Portakalı Piliç
We are not sure if this is really Turkish, because Google does not find any Turkish results for this.Maybe this is a good thing, because Frans does not really like it, and we are also hoping for more photogenic food in Turkey.

Preparing for the land of Tuncay...
We made hünkar beğendili köfte (meatballs in tomato sauce with smokey eggplant puree) to prepare for Turkey's cuisine!

Yum-o! Turkey, here we come (almost)!
(The eggplant puree is in the background -- it tastes great but is not very pretty.)
