Ellen Eats

A lot! Here are some of the foodz Ellen enjoyed whilst visiting, and this is not an exhaustive list. I'll add a link to Ellen's blog as soon as she makes one (or two) posts about her visit here. Also still to come: Ellen and F take a cooking class and pictures of a visit to the Great Wall at Jiankou.

Then with Amanda we went to our favorite Xinjiang restaurant.

Street food

When we open the windows, we often smell the delicious barbecue smells from the little street restaurants across the street. Today, we finally went to one of them for the first time.
We ordered way too much food, Anke got her picture taken together with the owner, and on the way back Frans made a self-portrait of himself and Anke for the very first time in his life (which made Anke laugh... a lot!).

Oh, the good times we have here!

Muslim restaurant

We had dinner at the Xinjiang restaurant on the campus of the Beijing Language and Culture University. We love it! Suprisingly, so does our Israeli colleague, although he seems to love muslim food more than muslim people.
