Nuts! Walnuts to be precise!

We finally made the pesto we have been meaning to make since we got the huge bag of walnuts from Adrie and Henk. We bought huge amounts of basil and mint, and used walnuts instead of pine nuts. The result was awesome.

Also we had some dessert, which was decent.



Finally, since nobody is complaining yet, more pictures of Mr. Bojangles.





Feel free to let us know that you're sick of seeing his cute face on the blog. We will then proceed and bring him back to the Tierheim, where he will be unhappy and refuse to eat.

What Today Ate Mr. Bojangles

At the request of HTGYG here is Mr. Bojangles' favorite food: smelly salmon and stinky tuna with undefined yellowy grossness on top. We alternate this with putrid poultry and vegetables, which mostly seem to consist of chickpeas.

And as an added bonus: What With Today Played Mr. Bojangles:



He actually plays fetch sometimes, pretending that he accidentally pushed the ball in my direction.

Spazieren am Staden

In our seemingly never ending quest to fit in, we decided today to go strolling along the Saar...



... and drink huge glasses of Weizen. Zum Wohl!

The life of a scientist has its occasional perks. Like when your boss pays for you to go to a "workshop" that gives you five hours off each afternoon for skiing.

Even though we had to make our own impression of the sausage, it came out quite good. Especially the shallot dijon dressing on the potatoes was excellent.

Mr. Bojangles is mister no more. We took him to the vet, to have his junk removed. We are feeling pretty guilty now.

It is really hard to get used to having to take a picture from about 2 meters, instead of a couple of centimeters. We'll get there.

Getting used to the equipment

Today we had pork cutlets with a mushroom sauce, Käse Spätzle and salad. We still have to get used to the new photography equipment, so sadly just a picture of the salad.
