Spring, Snake and Snacks

Spring Flowers

Spring Flowers

I apologize for posting more flower pictures, but our garden is close to being in full bloom and it is stunning.

We also found a snake caught in some netting meant to protect a small tree.

Rat Snake

Listen to the end of the clip and you will hear it imitating a rattle snake by vibrating its tail in the dry leaves.

And just to remind everyone that this is a food blog, here are some fancy crab rangoons I made yesterday.

I am not here

DSC00704

This photo was taken many weeks ago at St Johns, but since we are swamped with work here and have no time to have new photo-worthy experiences, I guess this is better than nothing.

Also, I think these photos of one of the resort's resident iguanas are rather awesome.

The husband's lucky day

It already started with lunch. I feel somewhat threatened that he liked this so much.

Then, he got to go for a long bike ride, while I got to take my bike to the supermarket so F could have a day off from his daily two-hour+ shopping ordeal.

Finally, we got reacquainted with Ghillie Basan. Welcome back in our lives, Ghillie!

Finally... home cooking!

The husbo... he's SO BIG!!!!

We wanted to be like Ellen, who made wonderful chicken Normandy the other day.
The table setting for our very first real home cooked meal is completely "on theme": apple candles and apple plates.

Too bad they are breakfast plates, but we don't have real plates...

As beautiful as Ellen's cooking it is surely not. As tasty, it was not either. But pleased we were nonetheless. Our first real home cooked meal in the China!!!
