We ventured out for another exciting new restaurant yesterday, Huaiyang Renjia, prompted by the book Beijing Eats by Eileen Wen Mooney. We had used it just once before.
Again, the book did not disappoint! Incredibly, the quality of the food was even higher than what we are used to. How can we ever leave Beijing?
The book has chapters for each region(al cuisine), explains what the specialties are for that cuisine and recommends restaurants. So far, the recommended restaurants were exactly as described and the food surpasses our expectations. Highly recommended when visiting Beijing, or just to read about the different cuisines in China!
Last night we did not bring the camera, so here are just some ugly pictures from the cell phone:

fava beans and potherbs

dongpo rou

qingdun shizitou (lion's head meatballs)

Then the bad: traffic in Beijing.
And finally, a random picture for good measure.
