It was time again for some culture.
In Iberia we saw paintings by Wang Yin:
In Ullens (UCCA) we saw broken paintings by Chen Wenbo:
In 706 Hall (?) we saw stuff we really didn't understand by Fu Xinmin:
Note all the fingerprints on that last piece --- one of the most important aspects of appreciating art the Chinese way is touching it. This may be second only to standing in front of the art work making the V-sign and having your picture taken (or, instead of making the V-sign, touching the artwork).
One of the cooler things this weekend was this makeshift art exhibition of makeshift (cou huo) art:
Who doesn't love a skull puking rainbow?
Or skeletons of dead animals with glued on fur?
And finally, an oldie but a goodie. Here she is again!

A riot of colours
We biked around the Olympic village today. We were duly impressed by how modern a city Beijing is (see also another recent post). But all of that paled in comparison to what we saw at the Olympic forest park.
(note: these fish are in a lake, and there is plenty of water around for them not to have to lie on each others backs. God knows why they choose to do so anyway.)
On the way out we were tempted by an ice cream stand selling ice cream in the flavor "a riot of colours". It was more disgusting than it looks and quite expensive too.
