Runch on the Lykian Way

Our longest day: We started at six in the morning (because of the heat), climbed up 400 meters, had breakfast (bread, cheese, tomato, cucumber), climbed up another 300 meters, then continued on to the village of Alinca. Since we got there at 10 or 10:30, and it did not look like it had much in the way of entertainment (some goats?), we decided to press on to the next village.

There we had lunch at the house of this lovely lady, who wears Frans's hat almost as well as he does.

After lunch, more hiking followed (some of the hitch variety), until we reached the road where we took a dolmuş (minibus) to Letoon. Then we hiked for another 7 miles or so to Kinik, and by that time we were ready for a bus to some good old tourist trap.

George House in Faralya

The shadowy place where Frans crashed with a bit of sun stroke.

The grape covered platform ("tree house") where Frans crashed with a bit of sun stroke. We also spent the night there.

The sunset.

The buffet style dinner.

Menemen

Of hier opeten?

Lykian way

The view.

The path with the husbo.

The goat with the baby goat. Did not want us to eat baby goat and made this clear by stamping its hooves and being rather aggressive.

The lady who feeds passers-by cherries.

The path with the wife.

Meat fest!

Döner and adana kebab and köfte. And for desert pumpkin (no picture).

Not food, but all good --- soccer! Turkey vs Croatia

Runch!

Breakfast at Tuncay's

We had an amazing breakfast at Tuncay's sister's today! It is good we get to eat a lot, because we need the energy to stay warm.

It is 35 degrees (centigrade) going on 45...

Raw fish!

Dutch people are gross! They eat raw fish. But, man, it is good!

Asparagus, asparagus, will make you feel more ABLE!

A spring time meal at home in Hilvarenbeek (home of the illegal party center at Hilvaria Studios).

Moving

Packing up the last few boxes in blistering heat is no fun.

But driving in a big yellow Penske truck is!

Our last Sindbad's pizza :(

We spent our last night in the U.S. of A. at a camp site in the Poconos.

In the morning, we drove to the warehouse in NYC, dropped off our boxes, and then dropped off ourselves at JFK airport. We are hoping to see our belongings again on August 6 in Beijing.

Apologies for the light posting...

Moving, packing, selling and submitting theses do take some time. As do golf and cycling for those who are retired amongst us. Our slabs of bacon are almost finished now.
