We are trying so hard to be proper Germans, but are not quite successful it seems. This morning we had breakfast at "that restaurant we went to on our first night here." In an attempt to fit in (OK, really because we like it) we had Weißwurst und Hefeweizen.

The Weißwurst, Brezel and Hefeweizen were wonderful again. But why do they not like us there!?
OK, the first time we went there, we could not pay, because we did not have cash and the credit card machine demanded a PIN that we do not have. But we did come in the next day to pay, and I think they forgave us.
But then, last Sunday, we asked to share a bottle of Dunkeles Weizen. Gigantic faux pas! I think the big tip we left did not make them forgive us this time.
This Sunday, we did not even get the menu and were supposed to either know the menu by heart, or, perhaps preferably, to just leave immediately. We ordered two separate beers this time. But then the beers arrived, and A's beer had a funny smell. So we asked for a new one. We got one, but the waitress could not resist saying that "they did not smell anything unusual about the first one".
European readers, please tell us whether this is normal European hospitality and this is all just our fault. They seem to be nice enough to other people... If you do think we should keep going there (we like the food and it is the only restaurant near the guesthouse), how can we make them like us!?!
Anyways, after breakfast we walked downtown (F's tire has a malfunctioning valve), where we visited Art. More on that later perhaps.
Then we ran into an event that may interest Ellen: the
Gourmet Marathon. We saw a couple of people finishing the thing after 5 hours, and they looked pretty rotten. Our participation consisted merely of having a Flammkuchen at the Gourmet part of the marathon.

Finally, we cooked a simple pasta dish and were excited by how good food can be that you only spent 15 minutes preparing.
