Caturday

Yesterday we had a Katerday rather than a Caturday, so these pictures are a day late.
 

Possibly, the blurriness is caused by lingering blood alcohol as well, although we'll just blame the kittens for being overly speedy.
 

Let us introduce sisters April (on the left) and Leslie (on the right). They are not ours, but we are borrowing them from the Humane Society for two weeks. Only a week ago, they were very sickly, and we worried that we had another stinkpoes on our hands, with April not eating or washing, sneezing a lot, and having scabs all over her body.
 

But the antibiotics did their job, and these days they get up to a lot of mischief (and cuteness).

Sometimes, my job isn't so bad

I got to spend the past week in Banff in the Canadian Rockies for a workshop.



Our talks took place in the building behind the huge elk, and during the afternoon, we were free for a couple of hours to go hiking or enjoy the swimming pool.

And finally, the evenings were free for a game or foosball or pool.

Hiking the Alps -- On the Road

As is our annual tradition, we went hiking in the Alps again this summer with Ellen and Christiaan. This year, we hiked the Lechtaler Höheweg and Lechquellen Runde. Ellen will hopefully publish a nice, detailed, chronological report of our adventures. Here at WTAW, you'll have to make do with a sequence of posts containing random assorted pictures.

Part one of the series: things we saw on the road.
