Mehr Spargeln!

Spargel

And more of the usual.

Peppers, feta and more

And more of the usual gado gado (avant la sauce).

Gado gado avant la sauce

One wonders what is preferable: radio silence or a boring blog post.

Asparagus salad

We also made fries and hamburgers, but these turned out to be not very photogenic.

Dinner with Ellen, Christiaan and Pappamamma

We started with the meatz we bought that day (see previous post --- although we did not eat the calf in the last picture, I am talking about the two pictures right above the bovine):

Also note the asparagus. They came out wonderfully, after putting them in cold water, turning up the heat, and taking them of the fire once the water boiled. After 20 minutes they were perfectly done.

These barbecued zucchini with feta, sesame seeds and some mint was really tasty. Ellen already looks happy just photographing it.

Home cooked dinner

After our excitement-filled self-driven day, we continued our independent and self-sufficient m.o. and cooked tonight: asparagus, salmon with tomato-cilantro vinaigrette and new potatoes. It even tasted very nice! Even more surprising, the wine we had with it was more than drinkable and maybe just quite good. It had been sitting in our fridge forever because we had been dreading drinking it (we have yet to develop a love for the wine (local or imported) on offer here). But lo-and-behold, Grace vineyards (said to be the best Chinese wine maker) makes a nice chardonnay!

Asparagus, asparagus, will make you feel more ABLE!

A spring time meal at home in Hilvarenbeek (home of the illegal party center at Hilvaria Studios).
